Stakeholders

The San Angelo Regional ITS Architecture represents the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, county, state, and national levels.  It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system in the San Angelo Region.

Angelo State University The major university in the region.
BCBP - Bureau of Customs and Border Protection Includes what was US Border Patrol, US Customs and USDA.
City of San Angelo Represents overall city government and miscellaneous departments.
City of San Angelo Traffic Services Department Department of City of San Angelo responsible for traffic operations.
Colorado River Municipal Water District The Colorado River Municipal Water District owns, maintains, and operates ten dams and reservoirs for water production and conservation in West Texas. Five of these provide raw water for the municipal use of approximately 450,000 people.
Commercial Vehicle Operators Private commercial vehicle operators
Correctional Facilities Federal, State and County correctional facilities
County Emergency Management Agencies Coordination of mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies
County Road and Bridge County agency responsible for maintaining county roads and bridges in the region
County Sheriff County law enforcement
CVCOG Concho Valley Council of Governments. Organization of local governments working together voluntarily to solve mutual problems and plan for the future of the region.
DPS Texas Department of Public Safety
DPS Department of Emergency Management DPS division responsible for mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
Financial Institution Banks involved in the transfer of funds for toll and fare collection as well as for other fee based transportation services.
Independent School Districts Includes public schools throughout the San Angelo Region.
Local Media Includes both print (newspaper) and broadcast (TV, radio) news media.
Lower Colorado River Authority LCRA plays a variety of roles in Central Texas: delivering electricity, managing the water supply and environment of the lower Colorado River basin, developing water and wastewater utilities, providing public recreation areas, and supporting community and economic development.
Municipal or County Government County or local city/town/village offices and departments.
Municipal or County Public Safety Local city or county agencies responsible for emergency coordination.
Municipal Public Works Department Local city department responsible for street maintenance.
NOAA National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (National Weather Service).
Other Transit System Providers Transit system providers in adjoining regions.
Pipeline Companies Companies that own and operate gas and oil pipelines in the region.
Private Ambulance Private ambulance companies in the region.
Private Information Service Providers Local, regional and national information service providers that provide travel information, including local media (print, TV and radio), Internet sites, service bureaus, etc
Private Maintenance Contractor Private contractors providing maintenance functions.
Private Taxi Providers Private companies providing taxi service.
Private Tow/Wrecker Providers Private towing companies
Private Transit Providers Represents other transit providers, including transit systems outside the San Angelo region and intercity bus carriers, including Greyhound.
Private Travelers Traveling public accessing various modes of transportation, including surface street, air, rail/transit, and non-motorized.
Rail Operators Operators of private rail systems (e.g. Kansas City Southern), including passenger and freight.
Regional Emergency and Public Safety Agencies Provide response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
Regional Medical Center Hospital/trauma centers in the region.
SAMPO San Angelo Metropolitan Planning Organization. Metropolitan Planning Organization responsible for coordinating regional transportation planning and the use of federal transportation funds among the counties and cities within the San Angelo Urban Transportation Study area.
San Angelo Fire Department Provides fire and rescue services to the City of San Angelo.
San Angelo Police Department Law enforcement provider for the City of San Angelo.
San Angelo Street Railroad Company A department of the City of San Angelo that provides transit operations for the City of San Angelo.
State of Texas State government agencies and departments.
Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
Texas Forest Service The Texas Forest Service is mandated by law to "assume direction of all forest interests and all matters pertaining to forestry within the jurisdiction of the state". It has an office in San Angelo.

Utility Services Public and private utility services including electricity, gas, etc.
