This equipment package determines current location of the vehicle using GPS or similar location referencing capability and provides this information to other equipment packages that use the location information to provide various ITS services.

The vehicle shall provide the vehicle's current location to other in-vehicle functions. 2 -
The vehicle shall calculate the location from one or more sources of position data. These location referencing systems include position systems such as GPS, DGPS, odometer and differential odometers. 3 -
The vehicle shall refine its calculations as required by other in-vehicle functions.
