This Traffic Control Center monitors and manages traffic flow. Incidents are detected and verified (using video surveillance, for example) and incident information is provided to the appropriate emergency management agencies, travelers (through Dynamic Message Signs), and to third party providers. The Traffic Control Center disseminates maintenance work schedules and road closure information provided by the County's PWD Systems. It also coordinates with CSX Rail Operations Centers to support safer and more efficient highway traffic management at highway-rail intersections.
