St. Johns County Traffic Control Equipment

Description:

St. Johns County has 44 signalized intersections that were upgraded in 1995 as part of a three?year project with the Department. The system is primarily controlled as isolated intersections operating on an actuated or pre?timed basis. However, there are small closed?loop systems operating in the historic downtown area of St. Augustine along the US 1 corridor and in the Ponte Vedra Beach area along the SR A1A corridor. All systems and all but one intersection have the ability to communicate with the County’s Public Works Department in St. Augustine.
